I must give proper accreditation to Eileen Montgomery and Blake Swift, better known as EileMonty and ShadyVox, for their amazing talent. I haven’t completely decoded the whole song… I’ll probably take at least five or six more playthroughs to hear it properly and at least get the main verse from both of them–the ending’s an overlap challenge that will take me a while to grasp.
If you have not heard Strangers, just do it… firstly, it’s an amazingly well-done video; secondly, it’s an amazing song; thirdly, EileMonty and ShadyVox, need I say more; and lastly–for anyone who’s ever left someone behind and wondered what might have been, or is at a place where you’ve reunited with someone who was from your past, it’s a song that encapsulates the feelings that go with that sort of relationship.
I won’t muddy this down with excess words, as I’ve got a couple of pressing matters today, including a meeting in about a half-hour, but I will give the transcribed chorus from both of them.
Please remember that I miss you
Young and reckless, what did we do?
Broken promise, gone forever
Maybe one day we’ll get better
Right by your side; that’s where I’ll be
In a heartbeat, if you ask me
Let’s stay strangers like we’re meant to
Oh, I wonder if you miss me too…
Please remember that I miss you
Not caring is so hard to do
Everything we loved together
It’s not the same without you there
Feels like you were just beside me
How did time go by so quickly?
Now we’re strangers, but I miss you
Oh, I wonder if you miss me too…
