Tumblr’s New UI

Don’t get me wrong: I like a simple setup.  From what I’ve seen of the new UI, it… creates a solution to a problem that really didn’t exist to begin with.  Is this designed for the Metro interface that Windows 8 uses, because I have to say if that is the direction they were thinking of going in they got it dead wrong.  People want faster options to edit, and granted the majority of the text modifiers still work just fine if you remember their keyboard shortcuts.

I personally think I’m not the best to offer an opinion on this as I don’t often use Tumblr for anything: I can’t really draw, I don’t stream video games and my current claim to fame is that I’m the head of registration for two relatively medium sized conventions in the Upper Midwest (MLP-MSP and Ponyville Ciderfest).  Decent accomplishment, but… eh, whatcha gonna do?

If I’m invited to a con, I see if I can make it 🙂 I usually can’t afford to go to every con out of pocket. Though if enough people are like “I’d like to see this person at the con!” they sometimes listen, especially horse cons, I’ve noticed.

*nods* Don’t get us wrong, we’d love to have you at the convention, Jessi, but we understand.  I’m trying to swing four conventions this year myself, the positive aspect that I’m helping to run two of them so I don’t need to worry about paying to get in.  I will ask the organizers and see, however.
